I didn't know which discussion to follow - so started a new one. Just having an achy day today - so just chilling.
There are some really sad stories where people have such horrid things going on with their bodies, or horrible experiences. I really feel for those people and I'm counting my blessings that an achy day is my worst so far. Good luck everyone who is just recovering in whatever way they can. Xxxx
Hi Mallo,
I really do not understand the weather these days - we had our fireplace going much of the day yesterday and today promises to be the same. I almost feel badly about the houseplants put out for real sun recently.
Your post really resonated after so many recent posts from so many people facing very tough challenges. To be very honest, there are times that I simply don't know how to reply (their experience is so far outside the realm of mine), and a note of sympathy just sounds trite that I sometimes use votes as votes of support , esp when I really don't have anything meaningful to add. Your post is so much better. Thank you.
So ... to anyone needing a hug today - xoxox

Hello Malloo, I know what you mean, I find it difficult to read some of the posts, about what can go wrong, and the pain some people are experiencing. It does make you feel lucky to have the normal aches and pains of this operation. Let's hope that everyone comes out of this, at some point pain free, and to enjoy good health. Rest up chick, you'll have a better day tomorrow. Xx
Hey malloo
We all understand what its like having an achy day there are some days l can' t hardly move and other days l am totally fine l had both hips done last one was in middle of february and l am still suffering bad days and still can't sleep a full night in my bed. But my new hips are brilliant and as you know l have just found out my knee's have severe OA so l am back to hospital on 22nd. Not yet returned to work as l can't sit for any longer than 2 hrs or 3 at a push then l get really sore. I was hoping to go back to my work this month but its not going to happen. But today is one of my achy days as well. And l can get really down but l think if it was just my hips that l was recoverrig from l wld be fine and possibly ready to give my work a go. But its all been put on hold until l get my knees seen to. But l understand what an achy day is but you know it will pass.
Hugs
Laura
Well my 312 steps yesterday have resulted in an achey leg today! 1st lesson learnt!
hi malloo,
how are you this morning ?
How sweet of you to mention this and i am right there with you -
a great reminder to count our blessings sometimes - however, we are human beings and our own pain hurts the most ... it's just the way it is, darling -
weather is weird here too - after hot, humid days, rain and thunder, gray skies make it feel like fall - poor people who are on vaction here ....
big warm hug
renee
Morning Renee, feeling sleepy! I've just seen Neil off to work, the border terriers are full of energy after their early morning walk with Neil, bless him, he has to do everything before he leaves at 6.30 am, while I've just snuggled down on to the settee,
it's grey here with rain, at least we don't have to worry about watering the garden.
Still achy, but I can still manage much better than I thought I would. Neil had heard on the radio yesterday about lots of unsuccessful hip ops, and I thank my lucky stars that I never experienced that.
I am going to read, maybe sew ( doing a very pretty cross stitch) , maybe catch up with some TV( although I am trying not to become addicted to daytime TV ) but I've very quickly transformed from my normal state of doing everything at 100 miles an hour to thinking 'oh I'll do that later. ' normally I would be up now, taking the dogs out and then rushing to school ( primary school teacher ), not stopping for a minute and then coming home to continue school work until bedtime. So if I am honest, I am loving the need to be still and slow. I can feel my stress trickling out of me to be replaced by calm relaxation. I have the absolute luxury ( because I timed it perfectly) that when my 'recovery time' is complete, I then have school holidays, so by the time I go back in September I expect to be as fit as a fiddle. So I am enjoying indulging myself with sloth like behaviour, and if I am aching - well at least that justifies another day of rest!!!!
So here comes another day !!!!
Hope you are doing well, I really enjoy the chats and discussions on this forum .xxxxxxxxxx
Morning Malloo, do you find each day to be a bit 'groundhog day'? I've got lots lined up to see me through the summer but I just can't be bothered at the moment & I hate daytime TV.
How have your little dogs been whilst you've been off? Although it's only day 7 for me, my little has sensed a change in all that's going on. My husband has taken 2 weeks off work so he is doing all the walking but it will be different again when he's back at work.
Where in the UK are you? The weather has been awful hasn't it.
Big hugs, I'm off to sit on the loo again!
Hi, yes I'm in lethargic mode. Dogs are going to be stripped today, they've never had it done before, they are only a year old. They are great and very snuggly.
i'm in Ripon. It's not inspiring weather at all. X
have a nice day. X
Aaw, how lovely, borders are great.
I'm from Leeds originally but now in Leicestershire. I still have family in Leeds & Blubberhouses & we are often up there visiting. N Yorkshire is fab for dog walking, we love it.
The sun has made an appearance so hubby is off out with Mylo before it rains again. Big hugs x
Happy slothing Malloo! It sounds as your hip gave out at a good time for you to slow down a little.it is good to have a full life but also good to take to enjoy it as well.
I'm not sure about how well we could sell 'THR Retreats' though!
I hope you have many lovely days and a good recovery before taking up your 'normal' life.
