You're not alone trust me I know exactly how you feel. I have to get a blood test I'm scared of fainting
What do they mean when they say it is not a life threatening issue?
Is there an issue? Or the tests came back normal?
If the tests came back normal...breathe easy and know that anxiety causes awful symptoms....good things for anxiety are definetly EXERCISE...and thinking about ONLY THE CURRENT MOMENT.
Not thinking about tommorow or last week....or next year...just right now.
Re focus your attention to your breathing when you feel these pains....breathe in deep one time expanding your belly and let it out and you may feel better.
Other than that..the only other thing I can suggest is talk to a psychiatrist about an anti depressent...alot of them have anti anxiety components in them...I am doing well with Wellbutrin.
The ekgs are good but they cant tell me 100% whats causing my chest pain so what they mean by not life threatening is they think it could be like muscular skeleton but my gp is convinced its anxiety but im not buying either
I have alot of palpitations too
I believe it is anxiety. We read this story hundreds of times a week, every week. We have been through this. you need to get on anti anxiety meds to calm you enough to think clearly.
Your symptoms are classic anxiety. If you do not believe your gp, why are you here in an anxiety forum. Think Jacob...get some help. We can help a lot once you are calm and stable, which meds will do. The most we can do until then is keep telling you the same thing...this is anxiety. We have all been where you are!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are not alone, but only you can make the decision to believe your gp and let him prescribe meds....and take them, Honey. Hugs
Hi Cia (Ellen),
I believe you posted on my post to Helen earlier today. Is this you? If so, you seem extremely informative on this topic. Have you experienced anxiety before too? What did you do to get through it? How long did it take? I appreciate this forum more than you know, and appreciate your knowledge. Thank you.
I'm right with you on some issues like
Crying everyday and my life falling apart too. And for shots I actually passed out today during blood work so don't
Feel embarrassed about anything.
Hi Jacob,
My name is Chrissy, and I have also been battling with anxiety and chest pains (or tightness, uncomfortable feelings) kinda like bronchitis, or the beginning stages of it, when you feel like your getting sick and you feel it in your chest. It's constant, 24/7 and my throat hurts, and sometimes it feels hard to swallow.
I have been experiencing these symptoms along with palpitations, feeling faint (to the point I have been close to calling 911 or rusing to the ER), dizzy, weakness, fear, decreased appitite, lack of interest in the things I have always enjoyed doing, trouble concentrating and all of these things make me feel like I'm dying.
I was diagnosed with anxiety and panic attacks about a month ago, and have been taking Zoloft and Ativan. I have had my blood checked, an EKG, and chest x-rays and they all come back good.
A few days ago, I stumbled across these forums and today is the first day I have ever posted. I spoke with some really good people who were able to help me come to grips with my condition, and most importantly, I see that there are others out there who are going through the same exact thing AND they are still alive. I do not wish this anxiety on anyone, but to know that there are people out there who know EXACTLY how you feel because they feel it too is mind easing.
Please know that you are not alone.
Chrissy
In a joking manner, I called Helen...Ellen. I believe that is who you are thinking of.
Thank you for narrowing that down for me. Yes, it was Helen. You're the best.
I am so very glad that I could help, and that you found who you were looking for. If it hadn't been for you putting Ellen on message to me, it might not have hit me who it was.
Hey....why don't you just try some medication...IF that is what your GP wants you to do? Then if it is anxiety related...the medication will work.
I have chest pain too....sometimes....I do have a heart murmur...but when I take a tiny dose of an anxiety med..when I feel it...or when I feel extremely anxious the pill works...SO I do believe that it is anxiety and even if it ISN"T...the anxiety medication slows down our heart rate....too.
Well done, Chrissy. Excellent reply. We all need each other, don't we!
Hi! the symptoms you are describing seem most likely linked to anxiety disorder. Pressure, sharp pains, and burning sensation in the chest are all symptoms that can be linked to anxiety, and if your results have come back CLEAR then you need to seek help to deal with the anxiety.
have you noticed any triggers? are the symptoms worse at any point in the day or night? You mentioned you are feeling tired and foggy (again these drained, lethargic symptoms could be due to the anxiety or even depression), have you had your iron levels checked? low iron and vitamin D can all contribute to the sluggishness you may be experiencing.
I think you should refer back to your doctor for a full blood test particularly to check your vitamin d levels and iron. Vitamin D is the most common defiiciency in the western world, and can cause a plethora of symptoms!
Hope you feel better soon Jacob, take each day as it comes and focus only on getting yourself through to the next day. You are going through hardships right now, but keep in mind an age old saying 'only in darkness could we see the majestic beauty of the stars'. you will get there too, believe in yourself
Great reply, Hinazille. Well written and very wise. Hugs
