Hello,

I have been taking 2.5mg of Rampiril for around 6 weeks now. Yesterday I had what is suspected to be my first Angina attack (pending results of exercise stress test) , which at age 37 is pretty scarey. This has never happened to me before, and I have now also been put on Atenolol to control my hypertension which rocketed upwards yesterday.

I mentioned to the doctor that I thought I had read in the leaflet that came with the Rampiril that it can bring on Angina. He just laughed at me. When I got home I checked the box and in the \"undesirable effects\" column, there it is in black and white: \"Rampiril may cause angina, chest pains, irregularity of heartbeat such as palpitations\". Actually, I also reported palpitations to my doctor a few weeks ago and and received a similar response.

I have a consultant appointment in two weeks following the results of the exercise test and, needless to say, if my worst fears are realised, I will be producing the leaflet with these words highlighted.

I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.[/b]

I have just been prescribed these and here in UK they say it is important to build up dose over time. I have to take 1.25 mg per day for a month, then have a blood test to check kidneys ok then it will be increased to 2.5mg for a month and more tests. I wanted to start on 2.5 mg as my diastolic is very high but he said NO.

hi have taken my first tablet today after seeing a kidney specialist she started me straight away on 5mg once a day but all the posts I have read seem to start on low doses and move up, is this usual.

Satrated two days ago straight onto 2.5mg. Didn't even bother to test my kidneys, one high blodd pressure reading and they put me on these. Had diarrhea the first day, second day was ok, but third day feel more aches than I have before.
