Anxiété concernant le cœur

How do I deal with this without wanting to go to the doctors and to the a&e? The thoughts and sensations I have are horrible!! I can't deal with them today

Hi Fab.What sensations are you experiencing?

Hiya, a couple of years ago I went through the same. I woke up with a small ach in my chest and was convinced it was my heart. I went to the ANE many times with sever panic attacks, I was in constant fear of any pain in that area and ended up on anti depressants as a result.

Recovery..

You need to re-train your brain to stop focosing on bodily sensations. Only YOU can get yourself through this and you will.

1. Ignore it YES ignore your thoughts, let them come in but pay little respects to them and get on with you day. Do not rise to them.

2. Carry on doing and going places that you did prior to when you got ill.

3. No more what ifs! / what happens if I feel like this/ have a panic attack/ will be like this for the rest of my life! Stop! And no more googling.

4. Take one day at a time. You will have good, bad days and setbacks they are all part of recovery.

5. Think logically, if you were dying you probable would have by now or you would have more symptoms and your doctor would be concerned. He is clearly not.

6. You WILL get through this. Just know that you will and stay strong.

I hate goiong to the doctor, and the A & E. But I do it and thank God when it's over - and it's nearly always worth it. I feel a lot better afterwards. Maybe you need to write down exactly what you are thinking and feeling today, and take your notes with you. I did it the last time, and he sat nodding and agreeing with everything. I hope you try it, Fab.

I haven't been to A & E yet, but I'm at the doctors all the time just for reassurance I think. I'm on holiday and still can't relax having to take beta-blockers which I didn't want to do.

Well I always feel weird sensations most days but today it was a sudden thump and of course I automatically started worrying and checking my pulse which doesn't help. I've calmed down atm though, thanks for replying

This is a very encouraging thing to hear, thanks for the reply I will definitely try and use these good points to the best I can!

Yeah me too. I had my first and only ECG the other month and it was fine, it's so tempting to ask for another one for reassurance but I want to trust my instincts this time. But thanks for the reply, all the best!

Yeah it's always nice to get reassurance. But I hope you eventually relax and enjoy your holiday, all the best!

You will be fine if you have any worries in your recovery message me

I too have irregular beats/thumps/palpitations, try ignore them

Hi Fab do you get pain down the left arm or shoulder as well as the chest

Hey tom, I used to always get pain in my left shoulder a lot not so much now and sometimes I get the pain in my chest but not so often. For some weird reason tho I always get a itchy chest when feeling anxious

Yeah I'm trying my best and thanks I will do
