Anxiety and Brain Fog

Hi I have major health issues but all stable at the mo. I had to retire on I'll health because of Heart Failure. I developed really bad insomnia 2 months ago which is fuelled by my anxiety. I have no reason to be anxious apart from the fact that recently I feel like I'm forgetting things I've just done and on on occasions i forget where to put things. I've now convinced myself I have some sort of Dementia. Does anyone have this fuelled by anxiety?

Hi. I know my meds make me forgetful and muzzy headed. Anxiety makes us think the worst and at times convince us that we are I'll. Having said that go see your Dr for clarification. Good luck

You mention you have a heart condition, i gather your Anxiety originates from your heart condition. Insomnia will also be cause from your Anxiety.

Anxiety can also cause absentmindedness, however I would suggest you ask to undertake tests for Dementia

Earlier this year I went through five weeks of test for Dementia and they found out I had a congenital Short Term Memory disorder. with a physical Disability and that effects my Anxiety.

If you feel your memory is bad  I ould advise you talk to your GP

Hi Nirithes,

So sorry to hear about your health issues. Anxiety can definitely cause memory and insomnia problems. Try to take it easy and find something you really like doing. I know you must have something special you dreamed of while you were working. Try some relaxing music, meditation or mindfulness exercises. Check YouTube😌 Best wishes to you Nirithes!

Hi thanks for that. I went to the Docs yesterday and she assured me I havnt got Dementia or anything and like you said anxiety can create these issues. Feel more reassured now
