For about a week i have had really bad muscle twitching in both legs. If course i googled and came up with MND, so I am really anxious. I have health anxiety so get things out of context. You look fir reassurance but it just makes things worse.
I can tell you that I have had muscle twitching often on for over 30 years. All due to stress and anxiety. Its called benign fasciculation’s. They are not harmful. Athletes also get these muscle twitches due to how they use their muscles. They are very common. .
don’t read google because it will scare you for no reason. They rarely list the more common reasons for any symptom
. If you read other peoples comments on this forum you will find out that many people have had those also .
areThe health anxiety that you suffer from is causing the twitches. I would highly recommend that you try to bring down your anxiety level. Counseling is a good way to go and very supportive.
Also make it a point to do some short meditations for anxiety on a daily basis. You can find those on YouTube.
stay away from anything negative. Do things that relax your mind. Go for a walk, take a nice warm bath, listen to soothing music or Nature Sounds, etc.
the worst thing you can do is sit around and think about this because whatever you tell your brain, it will believe you. Then you will have more symptoms. So whatever you put into your mind whether it’s positive or negative, it will expand! So be careful what you are thinking. Stay busy. I hope you feel better soon. Take care
.
Thank you
ive had muscle twitching all over my full body and i feared the exact same thing. My doctor told me that mnd doesnt actually cause all of the muscle to twitch and isnt a symptom of it. I hope this puts you at ease a little.
Thanks for that. The trouble is as soon as you google you come up with MND. Then you worry so your twitching gets worse. i have to break that cycle. i am my own worse enemy. Thanks for replying I will read this if i get stressed. Its all about looking for reassurance, but sometimes it makes you feel worse
you are right meghan. A top-notch neurologist that I visited said the same thing. With MND you don’t get sensory symptoms such as twitching. so that can be put to rest.
