Anxiety + eye floaters

Hi, all. I haven't been on here in forever, but when I was on and last posting it was about withdrawals from Mirtazapine. I tried to come off of it but ended up having to go back on Mirtazapine due to the severe withdrawals. My anxiety is ok sometimes but I've noticed these last two years I have been analysing my health quite a lot. One of the issues I've been having is with my eye sight. I don't wear glasses, and as far as I know I don't need glasses, my vision isn't blurry at all but I do have eye floaters that come and go even when I'm looking at my laptop. When I look at the sky I will see thousands though and it hurts my eyes. I've been avoiding getting my eyes checked out because of the fear it may be something more serious. I'm 25 if that is any help. I was wondering if anxiety can be a cause for eye floaters? Does anyone else have this problem?

I get this too and also wonder

I have eye floaters, had them for years, I have regular eye sight tests, I don't worry about them.

i have them too and my eye doctor said is old age and i get blurred vision . it also could be auras before headache .

Hi, Everybody has them although some people haven't noticed. Mine were bad when my anxiety was high, they are not noticable now. They are little collagen clumps that move about with your eye so no matter how much you try to focus on them you can't. They worried me too when I first became aware of them but I've since had my eyes tested for glasses and all appeared ok. I too work on my computer a lot. I think the retina can be affected by environmental factors other than light so perhaps long use of your computer could be affecting your eyes. Age also plays a part, they are common as part of the aging process.

they are harmless. ive had them for decades on and off. for some reason many people with anxiety get them.
just get your yearly eye exam. every eye doctor said nothing to worry about. you can relax
