Hi everyone just wondering if anxiety and depression can cause hazy vision like an invisible pain of glass without it being derealisation etc. As I've had this from day one of my anxiety I can still read and see what I need to see but there has always been this annoying haziness, and I did find glasses helped a little but it's still kind of there and I feel no other symptoms of dr/dp.
Thankyou very much for any advice or replies.
I have hazy vision with my anxiety and depression. I wear glasses and have had my eyes checked. It is worse when my anxiety is high. I do not suffer from health anxiety. The blurriness is aggravating but I just live with it.
I get blurred vision but just seems to my right eye. Had checks done. Nothing showed. Another weird and wonderful symptom of anxiety
Hi there , regarding your hazy vision , I just want to share my experience. I had hazy vision then together with many other unwell feelings and the death of a family member, triggered my anxiety depression. For 6 months, my vision got more and more hazy. My anxiety depression went up to extreme. Then I went to check my eyes at an eye center. They said I have cataracts developed in both eyes. I now have surgery done on my eyes vision is back to normal. My anxiety goes back down.
So, I suggest you go to check your eyes
That may be a possible cause of hazy vision
I agree with Peter. Suggest have your eyes checked for cataracts and see a retinal specialist to check for macular degeneration. I had the same thing prior to removal of cataracts in both eyes. I also have very bad dry eyes that causes a haze, unless I regularly put in drops. I have suffered from panic disorder/panic attacks/depression for over 30 years so I'm not just blowin in the wind here.
If you have ANY changes in your vision, you need to have them examined. Don't wait.
Hi thanks for the replies I've had my eyes checked at the opticians only a month ago and everything was fine according to them apart from I have astigmatism. Thankyou again
Hi Paul. I suffer very much with hazy vision and like you, had my eyes tested a month ago and they are very healthy indeed. It is a very common symptom of anxiety, along with about a thousand others !!!! I do use eye drops, just basic ones that you can buy in a supermarket, and they do help a bit. Try them. Luv Lily x
Hello,
Im also going through this right now. I just recently started wearing glasses and i notice myself taking them on and off all the time because i feel like my vision is hazy. I think this has a lot to do with my anxiety which makes it 10X worse!
Have you ever had vision issues before?
Hi Jessica no I've never had vision issues before my anxiety and depression started, it all started at the same time the daydream feeling as in no motivation or interest at all in anything and a fog in my head and this haziness all started together.
Just wanted to add sugar can cause blurred vision. Lower your sugar intake. I drink lots of soda and never made the match until someone told me. I have blurred vision. Check your sugar with your GP.👍Take Care
Can the haziness be constant?
Hey paul i got the same symptoms since 2months now and am so scary tht gonna be permanents i live the same day for 2 months r u getting well or not yet?
Ive had the hazy feeling for a few years now..ive just had an eye test and my astigmatism has gotten worse...i google it..read about itand then clicked on google images...the pics that come up are exactly how ive been seeing things..so im definatly putting this down to my astigmatism. Try looking at images see what you think !!!
I also suffer from anxiety so is more noticable when panicky.. but my everyday vision is seeming to be caused by the astigmatism and hense the hazy effect. Hopefully my new glasses will put a end to it. Hope this has helped you. Good luck.
