Have you guys noticed that when you start thinking about something, like your heartbeat, its starts beating like crazy? Or when you start thinking about brain tumors and then your head starts to hurt? And sends you into a full blown panic!
I started thinking about high blood pressure and how much thats scares me because I’m constantly stressed out and have GAD (I also suffer with hypochondria) so what if I’m damaging my heart in some way. Then I started to feel pressure in my sinuses and heart started racing (100 bpm) (resting is 80 bpm)
Anything ever happen like that to you guys? Just being hyperaware of your body?
Hi Sydney, absolutely it's the nature of anxiety, you do become hyper sensitive to your body but the symptoms you experience are normal anxiety responses. You can't damage anything as the anxiety response is designed to keep you alive rather than harm you.
Theres no need to panic it's all normal and nothing more than un harmful anxiety.
Neil
I just gotta keep telling myself that and hopefully one day I will believe it!
Thank you for your response!
All the time. I'm hyper aware of every little ache and pain and it just amplifies the problem. I, too, and trying to remind myself I'm okay and it's just anxiety. It's scariest when it involved palpitations and chest pain!
Yes Sydney, Had a lovely calm day yesterday, until last night I suddenly thought, I had no Anxiety or dizziness today...I wonder why.?..Then it just came out of the blue..felt lightheaded, then panic. I realised my thoughts started it all...try to think you are perfectly healthy ,we can convince ourselves we are dying, if we want...so it can work the opposite way too...I got rid of a pain in my side, just by ignoring it and thinking I have no pain...The pain just disappeared...Anxiety is the Devil...but its our thoughts that keeps it alive..xxxx
