I know most antidepressant take several weeks to reach therapeutic level but is there any that kick in a bit faster?
I'm already anxious all day, and can't use more benzo to ride the wave as they are not working anymore. I have generalized anxiety, panic attacks, ocd etc so waiting 2-4 months to figure out if it works is a long time.
I was in your situation in 2015 and went through various medications that didn't work until i was given Trintellix which in my case within a few hours, i felt the difference. I'd try that out. Good thing about this med, doesn't cause weight gain or give you any sexual dysfunction side effects. Start with 5mg and go up. In my case i was given 10mg to start, it was too much. 5mg was enough for me.
I have never heard of this medication. Is it actually used for Anxiety?
Also were you on benzo before? I'm asking because I just read that Trintellix is kind of a mix of SSRI and Buspar, not sure if that's true or makes sense but I also read that people that usually respond to Buspar have never used benzo or been on benzo for several years prior, again I don't know if it's true, only what I read so far.
I'm diagnosed with Social/General Anxiety disorder, Major Depression, OCD, and Hypochondria, and Psychosomatic disorder.
I took Ativan once in a blue moon. Though, when my primary realized that my anxiety could not be controlled by only therapy or taking Ativan once in a while. She tried to put me on various anti-depressant medications to control my anxiety. I went through trial and error since many of them didn't work due to their horrible side effects. Trintellix was the one that worked with me, and felt the positive effects within two hours.
Never knew that Buspar was similar to Trintellix. Good to know.
Took the medication for two years though due to financial circumstances I had to cut myself from it a few weeks back.
Hey Bobby
I feel you as I always think that I am out of breath. What kind of benzos are you on ? For anxiety , there is a meds called hydroxyzine. It helps woth anxiety like benzos bit they are not addictive . Try to ask your dr about that . And be patient with the SSRI ! Good luck
Have you researched the side effects of benzos/
