Was just wondering if anybody has applied for PIP, i applied and have been refused. I work full time and finding this extremely hard and wanted to see if i could drop some hours if i was awarded the pip but have been refused, I really am as you all aware in extreme pain all day long and extremely tired all day.
I am interested to find out if any one has been awarded this.
Hi Lindsey, yes I was awarded pip about 18 months ago. The standard rate of both daily living, and mobility. You really need to use a guide such as benefitsandwork (google it ) as the way you word things is all-important. The site mentioned is really helpful as far as this is concerned. Good luck x
Hi I applied for pip and got it, my husband filled my form in for me it took us over an hour to do. Your local CAB may be able to help with the form and I would look up the guide as Jeanne sujested. I applied for DLA a couple of years ago and got turned down twice. see if you can get some 1 to help you with the form if you possibly can. take care
Hi Lindsey, no I don't have pip but I have applied. Someone from a local charity came out to help me fill in the forms. I have been turned down, but the lady from the charity told me that this is normal procedure so I have appealed and am just waiting for the tribunal date. It is worth asking for help with the forms, as Jeanne said the wording is all important, and it helps take some of the stress out of things to have someone who knows what they are doing.
hi Lindsey, i dont have fibro, but i applied for p i p due to severe depression and anxiety as a result of being bullied at work ive been signed of since nov14. sent oif pip forms on 24th may got text on 2nd june to say got forms and a letter to say the same on 4th june , a lady i was chatting to on forum had same as me done everything at the same time as me only difference when she got her letter on the 4th it advised her assessment was on the 6th june, well that was quick i said and she was awared pip, im still waiting got more forms to fill in got O H assessment and phyciatrist appall within next week, which is adding extra stress etc, i think maybe what you should do is ask your dr to sign you off rather than being in pain and doing full time hours you will get sick pay and be able to have a bit of a rest then you could appeal the refussal with the help of your dr and from what ive read on the forums if you appeal you are more likely to get p i p if you can prove that your pain affects your work, hope you have some luck take care :-) x
My gp did a letter to pip supporting me, also the rehumatologist did a report send in any letters you have for apoointments with people youve seen at hospital rhematologist etc . anything that will help your claim I would get some 1 to help you with the form it took me 6 months from start to finish to get pip they were very long winded with me take care good luck with it
Hi Lindsey. I was awarded pip last year, but as others only the lower rate of mobility and care component. I have been refused esa even on appeal. They appear to just look at you and say you look okay, why are you wasting our time. My GP supported my application for the pip. I would appeal it. Go and see your local cab, they should be able to help you, even if it only how to word your appeal letter. Gentle hugs take care, don't let them get you down x
Hi Lindsey I arranged for CAB specialist to come to me and that was yesterday luckily the form arrived day before but too much for me to even digest anything of it. She spent from 10.30 to 13.45 to run through all the questions and input the answers step by step and this was supported by many letters from the hospital my accident anxiety and depression and pain management feels I will definitely get daily living but unsure about mobility as don't use any aids even though do not have good hands to manage stick or crutches so all was sent off yesterday after taken back with her to copy and post back in envelope supplied. Glad week over had so much on and permanent tummy trouble and unsure if connected but very sore teeth since commenced new medication sertraline and certirizine hydrochloride for the hay fever can anyone relate to any of this what next I wonder also again impacting on my feet including numb toes. I only work part time and even find this unbearable sitting driving for up to two hours but not hard work so will stick at it as best I can. Take care. Julia
Hi Julia Hope all goes well for you with your pip claim, it sounds like the CAB woman was very thorough also sending letters in will help you with your claim.Hope you have a good weekend take care gentle hug
