Anybody ever suffered lymph nodes swell up?

Hi I have posted before about getting lymph nodes come up on my neck last October/November! Started with one and I now have 2-3 on each side of the neck, doctor wasn't worried but did bloods and they was fine well tonight I'm starting to feel the one in my left side groin coming up!

Has anybody ever had this? The doctors not worried and my bloods all came back fine I have major health anxiety and keep thinking iv got lymphoma

Hi, do you have any other symptoms? It my be nothing and your body could just be fighting infection but I would persist with your GP and request a referral. Lymphoma may not always show up in a routine blood test so you need to push them to investigate further. If they are not acting fast enough be persistant until you get a result. There is nothing worse than worrying about your health.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Claire

Hi I don't know what symptoms of lymphoma are, the doctor seems happy everytime iv been to see him as they are not fixed they move around, I can chase them with my finger! I have been referred but only because I pushed for it! The doctor seemed fine about them as I said they move and are not fixed x

Hi, that's great that you have been referred, not knowing either way is worrying.

The symptoms are as follows:

night sweats

unexplained weight loss

a high temperature (fever)

persistent tiredness or fatigue

difficulty recovering from infections or developing infections more often

a persistent cough or feeling of breathlessness

persistent itching of the skin all over the body

I was unlucky enough to be diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma last summer, the only side effects I had were

Extreme fatigue, difficulty fighting infections and itchy skin.

It wasn't until my lymph nodes swelled that I was referred....the nodes do move, the surgeon explained they are like beads on a necklace, quite flexible. My bloods showed normal the whole time. I had a scan which showed lumps then I was diagnosed after a biopsy.

Try not to worry, easier said than done I know. It could be a number of other things as the symptoms are the same as a lot of other less serious illnesses. The consultant has told me if lymph nodes are swollen for around 3 weeks then go back to normal, chances are you are just fighting an infection. Maybe make a diary of how you are feeling as they will need to know everything.

Good luck, let's hope it resolves itself soon.
