Has anyone here taken Unithroid? I have been on it for 6 months and just don't feel great. Level seems to be going up and down my last TSH level was seven and we try to up the dose and I got worsening anxiety. Now I don't lower the dose again and I'm having headaches and neck pain cold Also sweating a lot at night hot flashes are worse. I wanted to know if anyone had taken this and what your side effects were and how long it took before you started to see the side effects. Thank you

I've been taking Unithroid for a year and 1/2 with mixed results. I originally switched from the generic Synthroid due to hair loss, GERD, and a number of other issues to Unithroid. With Unithroid many of the side effects of the generic disappeared but I still have experienced weight gain, exhaustion, feeling winded and have the feeling of trying to catch my breath. Recently tried to combine T3 (generic Cytomel) with Unithroid and felt wonderful for 2 glorious weeks before experiencing side effects from the T3 generic but I did realize something. Now temporarily off T3, my original dose of Unithroid was decreased from 100mcg to 88mcg and I do feel better. Although I don't know if it is temporary. I'm thinking if you are on it for 6 months and not feeling well, it may be time to try another alternative. What dose do they have you on?

I have been on unithroid for 6 months now. I had a hard time getting dosage right, we think because I had some steriod injections in trigger points and the endo thinks they messed up my system. About a month ago i was on .75 everyday and my anxeity started to rise so now i"m on an alternate dose of .75 for 5 day a week and .50 for 2 days. Its only been 4 weeks on this dose so hoping for the best. I took levoxyl for 12 years and had no problems but when they took it off the market had to switch to levothyroxine and that was up and down all the time.
I've never take T3 before, I hope if you go back on it it works for you. The thyriod stuff is tough to deal with, cause it can change at any time.
