just received appointment for MRI and i am not looking forward to this. i had one several weeks ago onmy back and it is a little scary. supposed i will just close my eyes and think i am on a beach somewhere.
The next appointment is for a balance test which again i am not looking forward to as i google it and it sounds horrid and as i cannot tolorate water in my right ear as it causes so much pain. fingers crossed i can go through with this.
while i am on here i would like to knowif anyone has put this down on a ESA50 for for benefit purposes and if so how did it go down at your medical. got mine coming up andhave been told that Meneirs is not included in any illness that can count.
Hi I have applied for Dla with meneires but I still haven't heard back from them, every time I ring them up they say it's with the people that assess your claim. This has been going on for nearly a year now x
I've had the MRI and balance test last year. I wasn't looking forward to either as I don't like closed in spaces and I'd read that the balance test could trigger a dizzy spell!!!
Fortunately neither were as bad as I expected. My tip for the MRI is to have music playing and like you say, keep your eyes closed
thanks for your reply. they dont half make us wait. i sent my ESA50 form off 11months ago and i have only just received my appoinment for my medical. i contacted my MP and he got involved and this is how i got an appointment. why dont you contact your MP and ask for their help.
i have other medical conditions as well as Meneirs, i have Fibromyalgia which causes me pain like no other so i am on a lot of strong pain killers.
will have to wait and see what happens after my MRI scans and balance test then i may try for DLA as the dizziness and not been able to walk properly and constantly feeling drunk is teying at the best of time.
thanks for your reply and could you tell me what the Balance test consist of as i am not 100% sure what i read is right. it will be better if someone who has had the test could tell me.
When I had the balance test done they make u look at a screen with moving objects and light etc. then u had to lie back and count while they took readings from monitors which are stuck to your face. Then after a few of these sorts of test they put water into you ears one at a time then they record the results with the monitors. I hope this helps x
