Hi Beverly, I must remember that, Coconut oil. Must admit that would have never entered my head. :-)
Yes the availability of products may vary. A dropper in the bottle would be most helpful wouldn't it. I will check out the various oils next time I am in town. Its interesting that you mention scar tissue too as I had an hip replacement operation not long since and need to deal with the scar tissue! Thanks. Shirley.
It was my lovely sympathetic doctor who told me to use Almond oil around the opening to the vagina, as it is gentle. Not sure about coconut oil.
Yes that's a different one Lynne, Almond oil and by god it needs to be gentle doesn't it?! My doc said how many women suffer from atrophy when they are a few years post menopause. I was surprised really. Thought it was just me.
Apparently there are hoards of us with thus problem yet all we hear about is erectile disfunction, Viagra and Cialis!
I have used coconut oil and although it's soothing it is very oily on your clothes so would have to wear a liner. Liners can irritate me so a bit counter-productive!
Yes, ha ha.!!!
There is a list that comes up on the Internet if you type in asking about the properties, with all the wonderful things that cocnut oil can do
Must admit Sus that I have been irritated with liners too. Must try another one and see how I get on with it.
I have just stumbled across this post , I really thought I was the only one , silly I know but sort of a comfort to know there are other people and it's not my imagination , soreness , wee urges you are talking about I have had ten all for over a year now and it has changed me as a person , I have a very understanding husband 😊
I have just had a TVT and I hoped that would be my answer but no the symptoms are still there , but no leaking so that's a massive bonus
Will definitely try vitamin E spent so much on creams and potions
Thankyou everyone xx
Hi Me a, Yes its such a relief to find out that you aren't the only one with this problem isn't it. I will have been suffering for a year in July but I'm thankful for the Vit E Oil. That has really helped. And also the cystocalm too. I've not been "Too bad" since Saturday but I can't believe yet that things might really improving. Wanting to wee all the time and being sore has put me off wanting to go anywhere and when I do go out, I need to know where there are any toilets. But things are a bit better now. I hope the Vit E Oil helps you too. :-)
Thanks Shirley is the cystocalm available over the counter x
I got the Cystocalm from my chemist and it has helped with what has felt like a soreness in my bladder because my urine had too much acid in it. It cost about £1.80 for 6 sachets. One of the girls on here said you can get Cystocalm from the £1 or 99p shop though I'm not sure if its sachets or tablets. I also have/had soreness because of the vaginal atrophy and the Vit E Oil helped with that. I'm not too bad today. I hope it continues this way :-)
Thanks will try that,
is that what the soreness in bladder is, acid in urine , I really suffer with that
I can't believe I have found fellow sufferes, thought it was just me , is it because ladies are to embarrassed to talk about it I wonder
I have just had bladder repair so feeling bruised as well , but that is nothing compared to the soreness
Xx
If I'm honest Me a, I'm not sure. All I know is that the cystocalm and the Vitamin E Oil have helped together with the soreness. Its awful isn't it. I couldn't believe it when I found fellow sufferers either. Thought I was the only one too. It really got me down. I hope your bladder is ok and the bruising soon settles down. The soreness is the pits of hell isn't it. But anything within reason is worth a try isn't it. The other thing to try was cranberry juice with half a teaspoon of bi carb in it. :-)
Are any of you ladies asking your doctors why they haven't suggested any of these remedies that seem to be providing relief if not cures? Is it because they don't come under the official heading of "medicine", do you think? Maybe they need to come on the site and pick up some pointers.
I'm still ruminating over whether or not to try the hormone cream my doctor recommended. Fortunately my main problem is trying to get through an exam. She says it will probably lead to more problems though. Here in the US the cream is Premarin. Sounds like you folks have it under a different name & some of you are irritated by using it.
Yes I agree Beverly, Some of our Doctors need to come here and pick up some pointers. I was using Vagifem which is a form of HRT but I stopped using it a week Sunday ago and have just continued with the Vit E Oil and the Cystocalm at the weekend. I'm actually not doing too bad at the moment. Now I am wondering if the Vagifem was irritated me too, more than it was doing good? :-)
It is the same sachets Shirley.
i have had the same sachet from the chemist under a different name for £4 but the ingredients are exactly the same.
we spend loads of money on possible cures don't we?
i have 2 unopened replens which I will never use.
I live in DN5 area if anyone wants me to give them to you
i read once that too many things can be irritating
so I tried to cut back on things I tried
good idea Beverley
