Awaiting cts surgery

I have read alot of info on cts release surgery. I will be having it done in both hands but not at the same time. My dominant hand will be first. Can anyone tell me their experience and what I am to expect?

i do a lot of Carpal tunnel release. in my opinion. if you are not having neurological symptoms like numbness and motor weakness, you should start feeling releived of pain and paraesthesia immediately post surgery which should improve further in a few days to weeks time.

Hi,

Can you tell me if the surgery is good if my CTS has no pain, but my fingers have been tingling over 3 months. Will it make the tingling and numbness go away..and what would recovery time be? Thank you un advance.

Sherry

I had both hands done 5 weeks apart ,both were really bad and due to have ulna nerve done which I am scared to death off ( anyone had this done ) as for hands I notice the diffence straight away and pins and needles gone .the op which I was worried to the state of making myself sick was not a problem never felt a thing and no real pain after which surprized me .dont worry you won't ever look back

Hi I had mine done a week ago tomorrow, a needle is put in your hand to numb it, it hurts a little while this is being done but only for a few seconds then you feel no pain at all..only took 10 mins to do..my hand is now heavily bandaged and was told I have to go next week to have bandage off and stitches out...hand was sore for the first few days and still a little swollen now and my surgeon said I won't be able to drive for 3weeks x

Thanks. Very comforting. How long was recovery period?

Hi sherry recovery the first 2 days I slept due to not sleeping a week due to being scared stiff ,once stitches came out in 10 days it's was all go ,ok could not put pressure on it so push bike was out the window and I did find driving hard but I would say after 3 weeks I was ready for work
