I have previously posted about numbness in my left foot when walking outside with shoes on. Later I developed lower back pain that I put down to my change of gait due to the numbness. It has now been 18 months and I have seen podiatrist, orthopedic consultant, neurologist, neuro surgeon and a back specialist. I have privately had lower leg X-Ray, lumbar spine CT scan and a full spine and pelvic MRI.
The scans show nothing more than normal ageing and wear and tear and I’m told that my back is very good for my age and no reason for the numbness or back pain. I am told that some type of neuropathy could be the cause but as it only happens when walking I don't accept their cop out. I asked if a standing X-Ray with pressure on my spine would show a different result but they all said no.
Have any back sufferers on the Forum had a diagnosis from a standing X-Ray after having had all the other scans. My GP is arranging a lower back X-Ray at a private hospital that he said has better X-Ray equipment that produces clearer pictures.
