Ich komme ursprünglich aus Ionia, Michigan, lebe jetzt aber in Hawaii und habe im März von Dr. Brian Weeks die Ballondilatation durchführen lassen. Einer der Besten!! Leider hat es bei mir nicht funktioniert, aber ich plane, es im September erneut zu versuchen.
Erzählen Sie uns Ihre Geschichte mit ETD.
Wissen sie, warum es funktionieren würde oder nicht? Was sind Ihre Symptome? Und haben Sie den Eingriff hier oder in Hawaii durchgeführt?
Ich habe es in San Diego machen lassen. Dr. Weeks hatte große Hoffnungen für mich. Ich hatte noch nie Probleme mit den Ohren, keine Nasennebenhöhlenprobleme, keine Allergien. Ich wurde im letzten September mit einem Kopfvirus krank und meine Ohren waren verstopft, gedämpft, knackten, klickten und knisterten.
Keine Ahnung, warum es nicht funktioniert hat? Wir wissen, dass die Eustachischen Röhren sehr schwierig zu reparieren sind.
Ich werde es einfach noch einmal versuchen und sehen.
Was sind Ihre Symptome?

Hi Kelly. I'll be really interested to hear how your second attempt with balloon dilation surgery goes in September. As you know from a previous conversation, I also had the procedure done (April last year) and it didn't work for me either. I am also willing to give it another try, but the initial feedback I got from doctors when I inquired about this was that if I got no improvement in my symptoms after the first attempt, the chances of it working the second time were reduced. That said, they didn't dismiss out of hand the possibility of it helping. Please keep us posted. I think there are many of us on this discussion board keen to hear about success stories with this procedure.

Ich bin mir nicht sicher, was ich noch glauben soll ... Ich glaube an Dr. Weeks, zwischen ihm und Dr. Poe, sie sind die beiden mit den meisten Erfahrungen.
Ich habe gerade einen HNO-Arzt hier gefunden, der damit begonnen hat, das Verfahren durchzuführen, als ich ihm meine Symptome erzählt habe, Knacken, Klicken, Knirschen, gedämpfte Ohren, sagte er, dass dies nicht die Symptome von ETD seien.... WTF? Ernsthaft. Zum Glück habe ich genug über dieses Thema gelernt, um ihm nicht zuzuhören. Er sagte auch, dass die Dilatation bei 80% der Gehörgänge funktioniert, bei 100% der Ohren LOL LOL LOL. Bin ich verrückt oder was!!!
Ich war bei Dr. Weeks, ein toller Arzt, er weiß am meisten.... aber er ist nicht Gott und er kann auch nur so viel tun. Ich hatte sehr, sehr, sehr hohe Hoffnungen, dass diese Dilatation funktionieren würde... Weeks war sich auch sehr sicher, dass sie es tun würde, ich hatte in meinem Leben noch nie Probleme.... keine Ohrinfektionen, keine Nasenprobleme, keine Allergien.., ich habe nur eine Erkältung/Virus und meine Röhren hören auf zu arbeiten oder verstopfen.
Ich fragte Dr. Weeks, was der Plan B sei? Er sagte, komm zurück und lass uns es noch einmal versuchen..... Meine Hoffnungen sind nicht mehr so hoch wie beim ersten Mal, aber ich muss es noch einmal versuchen.... danach liegt es bei Gott und etwas in der Zukunft, wenn sie mehr über dieses verrückte Problem lernen.
Wir müssen alle in Kontakt bleiben, das ist unsere einzige Hoffnung.... wenn jemand etwas lernt.... teile es, lass uns dieses Forum am Leben erhalten.....
I had the balloon dilation procedure and it didn't help me either. I then got tube in which did help, but now having issues again. I am doing the balloon again with an adenoid revision as I have adenoid tissue that grew back blocking one of my eustachian tubes. Mine was done by Dr. Vijay Anand in NYC and he was supposed to do it again, but is out on medical leave. My ear specialist Dr. Sujana Chandrasekhar is doing it this time.
I also live in Hawaii. Can you tell me who the local doc was? If you think he wasn't good, I want to avoid him. I've had dysfunction for about 4 years, now seriously considering the balloon procedure.
Also, roughly how much does it cost? Insurance coverage? Medicare?

Hallo Richard..... Ich war bei 3 HNO-Ärzten hier und 2 von 3 haben mir gesagt, damit zu leben und der dritte, Dr. Cho bei Straub, hat mir gesagt, dass Röhrchen das ETD beheben würden..... NEIN!!! Ich glaube, Dr. Cho ist der Einzige auf O'ahu, der die Ballondilatation durchführt.
Ich bin zu Dr. Brian Weeks in San Diego für meine Dilatation gegangen und fahre nächsten Montag für einen zweiten Versuch dorthin.

Hi Jamie! Did you have the dilation procedure done on Monday? I have an appointment with Dr. Weeks next month. I've been dealing with ETD for only 2 months but it has caused me severe anxiety I'm desperate for something to work but so far I haven't really come across any real fixes.
I replied to Jamie by accident. I'm new here but see you may have had the balloon dilation procedure this past Monday. If so how are you doing? I have a consult worth Dr Weeks next month and I'm desperate for permanent relief. ETD has given me major anxiety and really disrupted my way of life. It's on my mind 24/7 and I hate it.
I live in Michigan & am set to have balloon dilation surgery next week with Dr. Weingarten in St. Clair Shores - east side of Michigan. I'm going to an osteopathic clinic soon ran by MSU students in Clinton Township which is FREE. I will see what they can do first. I will let you know what happens. I'm still not sure if I am going thru with the surgery. I got sick in December last year & the ears won't unclog. Tried 6 months of nasal steroids, also a few days of prednisone. I actually got used to it so that it doesn't drive me crazy anymore. Hopefully something will work. And doing LOTS of prayer too helps!
Has anyone’s had the Eustachian tube dialation and tubes done at the same time? Is the balloon dialation procedure worth it if I’m already having tubes put in?
Any complications with the balloon dialation? I’ve had ETD for years and have avoided tubes until I got sick 2 months ago and my ears want unplug.
ok, here's the update on my situation. The osteopathic session really didn't make a difference so I went ahead with the balloon dilation surgery. At first I saw hardly any results & it seemed to worsen. But after about 4 - 6 weeks the etd went almost completely away. I would recommend the surgery - there was no pain aftwerward at all for me & I'm still almost completely free of etd 4 months later.

I just got this done a week ago and it also seemed to get worse. I am hoping that I will also get better in a couple of more weeks like p95068.
Is anyone else having problems after the surgery? Please comment. It didn't help that I got sick right after the surgery. (which I believe I got sick at the hospital). thanks.

mark from toronto. been suffering from ear pain and fullness for 7 yrs. i had my balloon dilation yesterday as im running out of ideas. so post op. pain and burning senstion in my bad ear. LOTS of popping and crackling. also hearing my voice vibrate in my head which is really annoying. not jumping to any conclusions yet. gonna let everything adjust and settle for a coiple months and ill report back. ear fullness f@##%ing sucks. all the best

I had this surgery two weeks ago and I also have the same results as Mark71416. And I still can't hear from my left ear, which is why I had this surgery. I hope that my hearing improves. And that burning sensation- I have to take Aleve all the time.

how are you doing?? im in full blown panic mode. this was supposed go be an easy procedure. im in a lot of pain 4 days later and its my entire head. eyes teeth temple cheeks ears and mastoid. also this vibration in my head when i talk?? i cant live like this....what are your symptoms? and who did your surgery?

Oh wow, I'm sorry. I still can't hear on my left ear (which was the point of the surgery) sounds like fishbowl/muffled sound. Also, burning sensation on the left ear (like someone put hot coal down my ear) and I have to take Aleve all the time. I think you need to go to your doctor a.s.a.p. if you are in that much pain.
