Barretts and sickness and stomach pain

I was told I had Barretts last year at 29 years old. A year later it has grown to double it's original size and I was just given more medication. My problem is that I am sick every morning but mainly have severe stomach pain lasting days at a time. So much so I cannot go into work as a teacher. No one has explained why the pains or what can be done to help

Hi James I have been diagnosed with Barretts Oesophagus since 2013 when they diagnosed the Barretts they also diagnosed that I had a hiatus hernia! Is the pain like stomach cramps? When they found your Barretts did you have a colonoscopy?

I think you must go back to your GP or consultant and explain what you are going through. I am not quite sure what you mean by grown to double it's original size. Your problem is really quite serious someone surely can give you answers to why you are being sick and have severe stomach pain. I have Barrett's Oesophagitis and I take Omeprazole. I do have symptoms but nothing like yours. I hope you can go back to your GP or Consultant and ask what is happening here and hopefully may be able to give you some alternative to what you have. Hope things improve.

James,

I too think you must persist and get your GP/Consultant to undertake further examinations.  I like you suffered severe stomach pains for quite some time, but not the sickness, and originally they didnt think it was typical of Barretts, and whilst still not fully diagnosed (the stomach pains) I do have the Barretts, but I have found that I have to stick rigidly to the diet principles of Barretts and eat much less and very slowly.  If I dont do this, then the stomach pains come back with a vengence.

Thank you . I need to go back to the Doctor then but it seems I'm getting nowhere
