Before or after food? PLEASE help ?

Was just wondering if it's best to have food before taking Sertraline or after? I've been having my breakfast 1st but just wondering if thats the best way or if i should take it on an empty stomach?

Had my dose upped from 50mg - 100mg & been on them since 5th Feb i am better then @ the start but just not sure.

hi

ive been on them around 10 days now and my doctor upped my dose from 50mg to 100mg on monday,

i have my tea and take them at around 7.30- 8pm with no ill effects,

have never felt sick only on the first night,

my legs do seem to have a life of their own at night though!!!

I read through the information leaflet inside the box and it says that sertraline can be taken with or without food so i guess its just a case of personal preference.

ive been reading that alot of people got started on 25-50mg but my doctor put me right onto 100mg on 5th feb and people who are close to me have noticed a change for the better but i just dont feel any different from before i started taking sertraline, you think i could be better off asking the doctor to up my dose to 150mg? or is that too much?

I take mine with my breakfast. I have a bowl of cereal and then swallow the tablets with a glass of juice.

Well I have been taking sertraline for about 6months and I still find that some of the benifits do start to reduce after a couple of weeks, and I'm told that this is just the dose not being high enough. Currently on 150mg and waiting til after exams before I up the dose again to 200mg- the restlessness is the last thing i need at exam time! I would say that 150mg is not too high if that is what you need... it is all about what works for you.

Oh, and I tend to take mine first thing in the morning before I do anything else.
