Best anti anxiety medicine without side effects

Hi there guys. I have health anxiety and my anxiety symptoms are clearing my throat a lot. My psychologist wants to put me on a med besides taking Xanax once a day every couple days. I am ok with taking a medicine but looking for one that doesn't have a ton of side effects especially the decreased libido. I am getting married (29 years old) on October 29th and not having a sex drive for the wedding and honeymoon imo is a big no no. Any ideas?

I was on Celexa / Mertazipine / Paxil / and another all gave me Ed and gained weight. Mertazipine worked the best but I gained like 80 pounds on it.. But it did stabilize my body and mind from all anxiety symptoms and stress and my anxiety was probably the worst it could probably get it was real bad. So they took me off Mertazipine and put me on Welbutrin and my Libido came back and it held off my anxiety. I cleaned up my diet/started exercising and I was able to stop Welbutrin with no Issues.

Hello! Is the Xanax not working for you? My doctor prescribed me lexapro but I'm iffy about taking it... I wanted to see if my doctor would prescribed me Xanax.

Hi dear, I'm on mirtazapine 15 MG and Atarax with help me greatly. The only side effect I got from Mirt was tiredness for the first week of taking it. It took away all my mental anxiety symptoms but the physical never went away ( constant chest pain, breathlessness...) the want to give me beta blockers as well to see if my physical symptoms will go away.

You need to try the meds yourself and see which one suits you body better with minimal side effects. For example, before trying Mirt they gave me Zoloft with literally drove me crazy. It turned out Im one of those lucky ones to have serotonin syndrome. After what I had experienced was very difficult for me to try another drug.

Anyway which works for me might not work for you and vice versa.

This is a personal experience. Doesnt even matter what anyone else exoerienced. Ask for the cyp450 test and see how your body metabolizes certain medicatiins that will guide you way better then using someone elses body chemistry as your guide.

Personally, I don't know if I would take medicine just because I was clearing my throat a lot, but I don't know

I think thats a tic by the way. A simple tic.

It is a tic. But I also have bad allergies and acid reflux but the acid reflux is worse with my anxiety. This happened to me three years ago and it took until the fall for it to stop once it got colder out.

My friend clears her throat a lot too. She told me it annoyed her felt it was an xiety and went on prozac. She was also deoressed her father passed. I never noticed the throat clearing she did. Buspar is very light and easy on and off and is good for GAD,i used a long time ago and weaned off really easily. but these meds all work so different in each person its probably more trial and error.
