Does anyone else use birth control pills for peri symptoms?
About a year ago I started getting severe symptoms. Severe depression and anxiety, sudden mood swings, doom and gloom thinking, etc. So I got started on BC pills. I think it helped for awhile but now I'm getting break through symptoms especially PMS symptoms that are worse than before I got on the pill. So my doctor says I can stop my periods altogether and not take the placebos. Has anyone done that? Or has anyone gone on HRT while still having their periods? Thank you.
funny, I was just looking for this topic in here earlier today! I just decided after a year off BCP to go back on because the peri symptoms are too much, but I'm wondering if the BCP will help anything other than hot flashes and making the periods regular? My worst symptoms are digestive issues (GERD), anxiety. headaches, joint pain and just overall fatigue. I'm already on beta-blockers for the heart palps, so that hasn't been as bad. But I'm wondering now if the hormones from the pills will help to regulate the other stuff going on...
And i was even thinking of stopping mini-pill in case it was contributing to my depression - sex drive has completely been gone for over 12 months.
What does that mean about stopping periods altogether / placebo - not something ive heard before.
Stopping period would be to take BC pill continuously and not take the inert pills. I already don't want to be on the pill altogether and now the suggestion is to be on it all month. It's to regulate my mood but not sure if it's causing some of the depression and anxiety.
