Bisoprolol and Bisoprolol fumerate is the same.
Could not get on with those at all, now on cavedilio , seem a bit better,.Do you get week legs, mine are terrible .
i am very comfortable with 5 mg Bisoprolol, no side sffects. Have beeen using them for many years. Sorry for my bad english, I am norwegian.
I have been back to the gp today and she has said that it is the same but a different brand, some have different release times and this is too quick for my system they have ordered me the accord brand as they didn't seem too bad so fingers crossed I will be ok on them lucky I'm on day off today when I got home from the doctors I went back to bed and am having to force myself to get up at 2.10 ! Other option for me is to take 1.25 in the morning and again at night but will see, really feel for those of you on a higher dose don't know how you get through the day!
Hi Joanne,
I cant say if there's a difference between Bisop, and Bisop fumerate, but I was stupid enough to take 1.25mg daily for a year. It seemed I was only half-alive and no better for it - I STILL had occasional AF. Gps looked right through me when I eventually mentioned the side-effects, sent me home thinking I was nuts.
I didn't ask permission to stop them. Didnt believe they couldnt be stopped straight away either.
If a medication significanly reduces your quality of life, demand something else 'til you find what HELPS your condition. I had my 17-year-old son to consider, apart from myself.
Best wishes,
James
I have been on Bisoprolol 5mg, one daily, just for occasional palpitations and fluctuating high BP. I got the first supply from the surgery pharmacy and they were Bisoprolol Fumerate 5mg, then the next month's supply was just Bisoprolol 5mg, and of couse I was concerned. But was reassured by people on here and the chemist that they were the same! I did feel at first that they seemed to be dragging me down from inside, and everything was an effort, also felt nauseous, but accepted that possibly it was body getting used to the new drug after being on Atenol 50 mg for over 20 years.
My BP has been normal now for all this time, so I'm well pleased as felt it was getting out of control at times, and I do suffer from anxiety occassionally.I have decided any feelings of tiredness and occasional nausea that may be contributed to Bisoprolol, I can cope. The worry of having uncontrollable BP was far greater.
I since taken up yoga and Pilates and go to classes regularly, and I feel more in control of my life, and if I am exceptionally tired I take a nap, or go to bed early and not fight the tiredness, I try and keep positve most of the time. I have also since cut down on my wheat products and using lactose free milk, and the nausea has stopped, it may or not been a contributing factor, but do feel less bloated which in turn alleviates the nausea. May or may not be relevant, but I feel that it may have played a part in how I was feeling. Hope this may of been some help. Good luck Liz x
