Yesterday I was at work and they were doing free blood pressure tests so thought I'd get one as it normally is fine and gives me some reassurance. But the results were 140/90. That's high isn't it? I had been walking and I was hungry but it's made me more anxious than anything now, is it dangerously high???
Hi Les it's not dangerously high to be honest with you the amount of worrying and ànxiety you have over your heart l am not surprised it is up a bit.l am perfectly sure you were panicking when they took your blood pressure.You really need to get help from your doctor.
Les. That's where my bp usually sits and I'm on tabs. It's not horrendously high. It's in the area they call pre high blood pressure. Apparently lifestyle changes will help. Cut out salt etc
It is a little high. I would keep an eye on it. I have high blood pressure and on 3 medicines for it.
140/90 is the very beginning of high blood pressure. You may of been a little anxious when it was taken. See if you can get it rechecked when you are relaxed. If it stays in that range or higher you might want to purchase a blood pressure monitor and check it every now and then. Let your dr. know if it stays in that range. It's not dangerously high but that's what you want to prevent by checking it every now and then.
