Hello,
Sorry if this is too much to read but have to get this out.
I am 27 years old make and had been dealing with a boat like dizziness or floating/swaying feeling for about a year now. Doctors have ran numerous tests, including MRI, blood tests, visited ENT and Neurologist but nothing can be identified what the cause is. I had gone in to the ER first week I got sick, back in late october, and they gave me IV and said I was dehydrated. About a week or two after that I had gone to see my general doctor for eat discomfort and she said that both eats were swollen and red and have me antibiotics and eat drops to help. Once the pain had gone I noticed that I had a sense of imbalance where it felt like I was leaning to the left in which I had returned to visit my doctor. She first had said it was vertigo or positional vertigo and to take some meclizine for the nausea and do these movements to help. Something similar to the Epley. Had done that for a few weeks and noticed nothing significantly changing. I then forced myself to go back to work thinking if I stayed busy it will eventually take it's leave.
December came and I had been working half days since I struggled to even drive to work and stay in the lab that I worked in. My last week I tried going to lunch with co-workers and when I got there felt dizzy lightheaded sweaty and felt like I was going to pass out. After that week I had scheduled a visit with my doctor to look further into my situation. I had taken an MRI in early February which came back normal. Many blood tests taken came back normal. I had visited an ENT in March ,who seemed to barely do a check up, in which she tried to describe my condition being caused by Atypical Migraines. Told me to take some vitamins that have had some success in alleviating symptoms which I believe were magnesium and vitamin b12.
I then visited a Neurologist in June, which I only had one visit with, and seemed to take interest. He sent me to take a EEG, which came back normal. Had me take a sleep apnea test I'm which tests showed I had sleep apnea, Rented a machine for sometime but did not see any improvement.
I had another visit with my regular doctor to check any other options, in which I took an EKG a copper urine test and more blood work all coming back normal. She had sent me to talk with a Psychologist in which I didn't see the reason for but did anyways and talked about how anxiety and stress can be triggering my symptoms. I tried excercise that she recommended which help me with relaxing but not with my symptoms.
Off and on through the months I had episodes where I felt very weak nauseous and sick. Id lay in bed trying to just deal with it and let it pass. In late August I had visited my doctor again to look at anything else, and she had suggested that , like the ENT and Neurologist, migraines had maybe been the reason why I feel swaying boat like dizziness and prescribed me with Nortiptyline. Started with low dose of 10mg. About a month later increased to 30mg which to this day November am still taking.
All this time throughout the year I feel somewhat better but it seems like every month I feel little if any difference. Comparing last November to this November, big difference , but not to the point where I can continue to work, workout, go to movies, concerts. Which I was doing regularly with no problem other than occasional hangover. I'm barely able to make my way to the grocery store and the bank nowadays. I'm missing out on weddings and birthdays and family get togethers. So much I feel I am missing out on. I know my condition isn't the worst but definatley not easy to deal with day to day. I feel like I will feel 100% back to normal, but doesn't feel like anytime soon. Any feedback would be appreciated, sometimes feels like I'm alone with this and sometimes hard to see the brighter picture.
Thanks for your time
