Bone/Joint pain seemingly all over body?

Hi all,

I’ve been having seemingly bone pain all over (pain in arms, legs, hands, feet, chest, shoulders, hips, and back) and joint pain (knees, shoulders, hands?, feet?). They come and go but seem to be increasing in frequency and pain. My main fear has been Leukemia, although the symptom presentation would be very unusual in that case (I do also have some fatigue, sometimes feel “fever-ish” (without actually having a fever), chills, some tiny red dots (petechiae) spread throughout my body (most are on shoulders/biceps), and did recently recover from a cold.)

But other than Leukemia, I cannot make sense of these pains. I did have an intense episode of anxiety-induced symptoms a couple years ago, but I don’t remember having bone/joint pains, nor can I find much info on bone/joint pain caused by anxiety.

Has anyone had something similar or know what might be going on?

Hi, your post caught my eye because I’m having similar symptoms although not so extensive. I too have chills without fever, waxes and wanes as well.

I also have a low level of anxiety on a daily basis, which is another symptom we have in common. Finally after weeks of putting up with it I decided to ask the doctor for a full blood panel to check my liver, kidneys and to check for any inflammation with a C-RP test.

My results never flagged up anything which is good but gives me no answers. Would it help you to ask for a C-RP blood test? If you have any inflammation present (indicates all is not well) it will show up.

I hope things improve for you and my best wishes for your recovery.

Look up poly myalgia rheumatica. Does it sound like you? Get your CRP and Sed rate checked.

Sorry to hear that you’re struggling with this. I have had something very similar. Had blood tests that didn’t flag anything up.
I have suffered with anxiety for 3 yrs now and from all the research I have done and the books I’ve read I don’t think we fully know the impact of anxiety on our physical health.

The mental health nurse also explained how anxiety can raise your Cortisol to such a point it can play havoc with the immune system.. I was convinced it couldn’t just be down to anxiety but have now accepted that this is probably what it is because since I’ve accepted it I’m not constantly worried that there’s something physically wrong and the joint pains and flue like symptoms are much milder and shorter. I would have blood test done then at least you can cancel out some of your fears. All the best x

I have fibromyalgia and it started with pain in various parts of my body brain fog and extreme fatigue, as well as IBS. Before they called it fibromyalgia, I was told “it’s just fibrositis”. As though it was nothing. No empathy from the doctors.

It was in later years that I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and given some medication. Mine has got better with the occasional flare-up, but I can’t speak for others.

Hi there,

Your post caught my eye, because I have been getting joint/bone pain for quite some time, extreme fatigue and constipation. I have been to the doctors about it and seen a physio person.

I have had blood tests for various things, such as iron levels, B12, Diabetes, Rheumatoid problems, with no problems. It came to light that I was anaemic. I did get prescribed some iron tablets, but had to stop taking them due to having to go for a Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy.

Once all that was completed, it was found that I have Diverticular disease, also H.Pylori and was prescribed some antibiotics and some tablets called Omeprazole There was no problem found with the Gastroscopy apparently.

I do have to take laxatives occasionally if I get very constipated and I have recently done a FIT test for bowel cancer and that came back normal.

Currently, I still get joint and bone pain, pain in my left side of abdomen and back pain some times, plus tingling in my legs. I got referred to a triage service to have a scan on my spine, but that got refused as the pain wasn’t acute I think. Instead they have referred me to Physio.

I haven’t gone back on the iron tablets to be honest, as I think they affect my moving my bowels and make my poo go black?

I am at a loss to be honest and all of this is really getting me down, as I sometimes I do think it’s something serious, but every time you go to the doctors, you get the impression they think you’re being stupid and just fob you off.

The joint pain is sometimes bad, especially in my knees and I have it in my hands. I am left handed and find it difficult to hold a pen and write, (typing on a keyboard is ok though).

Thank you for reading.

Fever, fatigue, chills and joint pain are consistent with Lyme Disease. Would suggest you get tested asap. It can be treated.

In the meantime, I would lower your sugar intake and eliminate industrial seed oils (canola, soy bean oil, corn oil, vegetable oil) from your diet as these increase inflammation.
