Has anyone developed severe abdominal bloating and impairment of their bowel movements due to a large prostate? Since mine went over 300gms I've developed these problems and wonder if the enlarged prostate is blocking part of the rectum due to inflammation.

Yes, I have noticed a change in that area. I feel like I've got a golf ball stuffed up my rectum all the time but had put this down to the fact that I've had a Foley catheter in place for the last 2 months whilst I am waiting for a TURP. I had thought that it was probably the retaining balloon in my bladder but now you have made me think it could be my oversized prostate that is responsible for the discomfort.
Yes, it's likely your swollen and inflamed prostate you feel. It's between your rectum and scrotum, but a little ways inside. You described it well. It feels like you're sitting on a sensitive rubber baseball.

Thank you nealpros for the reassurance. I guess I'll just have to be patient and hopefully the discomfort will disappear once they eventually do the TURP on me. I'm worried now that, having had the Foley in place for so long, I will have forgotten how to control my bladder when it's removed.
