Spoken in this forum a few times now and I'm one of those longer term BPPV suffers but my question is ' how many of you out there suffer from massive headaches/mirgraines. My doctor seems to overlook the headaches that I often complain about with the BPPV ! Most of them appear in the middle of the night when I'm asleep or when there is too much stimulation going on - feed back would be good from anyone else dealing with the headaches that has BPPV ! Thanks in advance! Donna
Hi Donna,
Yes, I typically get about 3 migraines a year, however, since having a diagnosis of bilateral BPPV, I am having frequent headaches and migraines. It was actually 2 weeks of intense headaches/migraines & extreme exhaustion that preceded my first vertigo episode! From that point on, it was fun and games for me and not in a good sense. Sometimes I wake up with a headache (doesn't wake me up from a sleep...yet) or I get a headache after I have been walking for a bit or staring at a computer for 1/2 hour. Leading up to all of these problems, I was extremely stressed and cutting out on my lunches, yet exercising daily. Perhaps I threw out my immune system? Who knows. Do u get ear fullness and pain?
hi Marie , I'm a person that rarely gets headaches but I'm getting them all the time now and my doctor keeps saying that it doesn't tie in with the BPPV. Ive complained about the pins and needles down the right side of my scalp and an unusual feeling in my left ear more than my right! No loud noises or ringing just an unusual feeling! It's only just recently I started getting stabbing pains in behind the ear which he said was possibly due to my bulging disc ( old injury ) in my neck so taking naproxen for that ! My anxiety has calm down since the controlling the vertigo but the headaches are hanging in there . I started doing an exercise called Foster's Half Sumersult that seems to move it along but that's something I'm still working on. Still awaiting for my appointment for the omniax chair in Sydney which is like hitting a brick wall every time I contact the receptionist and ask 'what date as I need to know'? responding with I'll promise to call you back and again still waiting ! I wish I was losing some weight but since exercise at this point was impossible for the past 16 weeks my weight has gained a lot - Grrrrrrrrr. But I'm gaining the confidence and walked the dog yesterday actually crossing a road without panicking that I wasn't making bad judgments as I crossed ! Yeah wouldn't wish this on anyone ! Wow long message sorry got carried away!
Hi Donna,
yes pins and needles here too. Started on left foot and progressed to hand and down right side. Typically is brought on when I am walking or any type of excessive visual stimulation. I tried Foster's somersault and it totally makes sense, however, I find my neck is really bothered by the exercise and I may need to modify it. Funny, I took the dog out for a walk today too. Hesitated first but she gave me that sorrowful look that only dogs know how to do and I caved in. I think I will have to hold off on future outings with her though. I have never seen her make sooo much poo (guess the excitement was too much) and it was a problem bending down to pick it up. I know, too much info...lol.
Yes, I echo that same sentiment....Grrrrr
