Breast cancer metastasized to bones, never missed a mammogram! WTH?

I found out I have stage IV breast cancer by swallowing a fish bone which led to a X-ray and then a CT but no fish bone. I managed to get the fish bone out with Avocado oil at home the following night. I had a follow up MRI on my neck where the CT showed a problem on my spine. I had a lytic bone on my C2 spine, and after a PET scan I had 6 other sites that also lit up. After the biopsy it was definitely breast cancer. It also showed a spot on the back of my tongue which I’m having a biopsy taken on this Tuesday, hopefully it will be benign, one cancer is enough.

I tried one Letrozole pill and couldn’t breathe, I have such bad reactions to medications and am scared to death that I’m not going to be able to take anything. Has anyone had bad reactions to the meds? I’m going to try Exemestane after my tongue surgery.

That sounds incredibly tough, and it’s completely understandable to feel scared. Many people do have to try a few different medications before finding one their body tolerates better, so don’t lose hope. Take it one step at a time, you’re already doing great by staying proactive and working closely with your doctors.

Sad to hear they missed this and it is obvious malpractice. Are you doing better/stable right now? Hope you are! Doctors have killed more people than any war in history. They kill people every day. This isn’t to say you are doomed of course, I just think doctors get too much praise for their social status. Doctors from the older days pre-1980’s may have been noble - modern doctors are evil beings only at the position because it’s prestigious.
