Hi everyone, just a quick update regarding my breathing problems. Went back to GP as there was no improvement in fact it felt worse! Had chest X-ray today and full blood count, ECG on Thursday so maybe that will show something up. I asked if it could be copd but thankfully she said my oxygen levels were very good so unlikely. I told her I'd upped my pred back to 15 and she was o.k with that, it hasn't stopped the flu symptoms anyway! Now for the long wait. Will let you know of the outcome.
Hello Marilyn, yes, please do. However good news on the copd front. Regards, tina
Fingers crossed.

Please do let us know. I can not walk more than 50 feet without huffing and puffing. This lack of stamina has been going on for over a year now. Have had all the testa, everything else is fine, so, as a matter of elimination, it is the pmr or pmr combined with the pred. Very frustrating, but nothing helps that I know of.
Really sorry to hear that Tony, I will certainly let you know how I get on. Hope it doesn't turn out to be the pmr for me. I was always very active and used to walk 3or 4 miles a day up until a year ago when painful thighs slowed me down and eventual diagnosis. What sort of dose are you on? Hope you get it sorted soon.
I am currently on 19mg. Have gone from 25 down to 15 but it hasn't worked. Now lowering by 1mg per month. I too was active. My work is as a tennis official which I can't do with this stamina issue.
Make sure the ECG includes the Aorta and Pulmonary artery.
Good luck with results. Please keep us all informed. All the best.
There are two reductions plans, devised by patients for patients and some medics are now using them and researchers are looking at them, which quite a few people have used with success.
Go to the pinned section on this thread and then send an email to PMR&GCA North East and put in the subject heading. Reduction Plans.
One is about to be trialed by one of the research groups - the grant has been approved.
