Im a 24 year old male that 5 weeks ago broke my distal humerus. The fracture was pretty bad so the surgeon decided to carry out an ORIF , he placed 2 plates and 19 screws inside my arm.image
During the surgery he carried out Nerve Exploration just to see if the fractured bone damaged the radial nerve but he said that the radial nerve was intact.
Once I woke up in the recovery room , the surgeon asked me to move my wrist but I was unable to move my fingers or my wrist. The movement of my fingers and my wrist improved after the surgery but not by much. 5 weeks post op I still have a wrist drop and my hand is numb, my elbow extension ROM is at 25 degrees and elbow flexion is at 100 degrees,my shoulder movement is perfect no pain or any problems with moving it. Can anyone suggest what could have happened during the surgery that could have caused the wrist drop? Also if anyone knows of any treatment for it I would be really grateful.
