Dear Kelly,
Sounds like you’re experiencing breakthrough bleeding. Just to be clear, what type of oral contraception are you taking: combined pill or progesterone only? So when you say you skip placebos, I’m assuming you’re on a combined pill but you don’t have a pill-free break, i.e. you just run the pill packs back-to-back?
If that’s the case, then breakthroughs are more common. There’s nothing too serious, but glad to hear you’ve taken a pregnancy test to exclude this possibility. Other things to consider on your check-list would be: changes in other medications you’re taking, a change in the timing of your pill-taking, and any recent bowel/stomach upset (vomiting, diarrhoea). Also consider if you need a sexual health check, esp. if you’re in a new sexual relationship.
Try to stick through this for at least a month and if you’re still spotting, it’s probably time to speak to your GP.
Rgds,
Adhari.
