Like the title says: What are some of your experiences with this drug and are the side effects worth it? I’ve just finished getting off of Effexor and now I’m feeling the full effect of Bupropion, but I dont think it’s working too well. I’m anxious to the point I cant sleep and my vision is slightly blurry.
everyone reacts to medications differently. so you would really have to try the medication for several weeks to see how it works or doesn’t work for you. Most of these medications take up to at least six weeks to take full effect.
if you absolutely are having symptoms that you can’t handle, then talk to your doctor about this. The doctor could make dosage adjustments etc. take care.
well, this is Wellbutrin under a different name. I absolutely hated this medication. It made me nervous and ansty and want to crawl out of my skin, made my anxiety worse, this medication is used to help people quit smoking. I was on it for a little over a month, the side affects did NOT subside and my doctor took me off of it (and get this) and put me on Effexor. Now after 5 years on effexor, I decided I wanted to get off all my meds, so i just stopped, there were side affects from the withdrawal, uncontrolable crying, loss of appetite, electric shocks to different body parts and my chest, but its subsided after about 3 weeks off the meds. Long story short, the anxiety came back, i tried to go back on effexor only this time it didnt work, Doctor said my body had built up a tolerance to it, and put me on Lexepro. So i am now on Lexepro for 2 years, and my doctor decided i could be happier, and supplemented the lexepro with Latuda and i feel Great !!. I also have a crutch, in the form of xanex, that i take only in extreme emergencies of panic attack. I had my first panic attack in 3 years about 4 weeks ago, when i thought i was going to catch Corona and die. Took a xanex and calmed down in about 20 minutes. But even with the xanex, it took a good week before my anxiety went from a level 10 to a level 5, and then another week to get back down to a Level 2. but that was a rare instance and i am usually fine with just my normal meds without the xanex.
Hi EF, There are lots of anti-depressants and usually people end up trying at least a couple, everybody is different so it can take trial & error…unfortunately it can be frustrating!! Some tend to be more calming and sedating, others a pick you up mild stimulant effect, some really neither way…I have tried most of them but, only for short times due to side effects…Wellbutrin was the only one I took for a few years, those side effects are a lot like having an increase of caffeine but, mine did go away(I would avoid caffeine since its a stimulant can make it worse)…I got a lot done as I kept busy. It got me through a rough time and I had very few side effects, hopefully if you stick with it these side effects will go away…if NOT maybe you need to try one with a less stimulant effect…you will get there, be sure to mention side effects to your DR, as dosing is important, sometimes you can decrease your dosage until these side effects pass and then gradually increase dosage to a maintenance dose…your DR can help with that!!
