Hi all had some brill advice on here before so hoping can someone can relate.

I got married in September really stressful time really stressful had a 2 week honeymoon Florida then Mexico.

About a week after returning I started feeling ill not bad just bloated lack of appetite weird stomach pains saw my gp who listened to me and said he thinks I have anxiety and gave me sertraline which I have been taking

Woke up a few days later with really bad back pain went to hospital urine all clear they thought maybe a ulcer so gave me lansoprazole.

A week after that bloating for worse I wasn't eating just googling all day went back to hospital they did urine all clear and full bloods white blood cells were high he suggested infection but nothing to worry about.

Saw my own gp again he said the same maybe ibs just stick with the tablets change my stressful life and bad diet.

A week later had a blood clot in my still went straight back to hospital more bloods all clear and urine all clear he said that the blood clot was the end of the infection and I'm left with post infection ibs. No more blood in stool just a little bright red when I wipe if I have used the toilet a lot.

So since starting the sertraline I am still bloated my appetite has returned I never feel hungry but I can eat I have a lot of wind bowel habits have completely changed some days I can go twice sometimes 6 ache in hips all round back and sometimes down legs pinching pain in sides not enough to stop me doing something but enough to make me want to sit down.

Can anyone please relate I have seen 5 drs since October they all seem to think ibs my own dr said give it until after new year that's easy for him to say he isn't walking round feeling crap every day.

Can anyone help me please

I.had infection and it knocked me for six got anxiety with it my head is always booming

If you have had an infection, sometimes you will feel washed out until your immune system recovers. So waiting until the New Year sounds about right.

Your bowl will still be irritated after the infection as well, hopefully you will be ok. However you are having problems around your Hips so I would ask for further tests of the bowel to put your mind at rest. I had a Colon check about three months ago after a bit of bleeding and they put a camera up to make sure all was ok after various tests given to Pensioners in the UK and all was ok. I think the test is called Colonestomie and they offer a sedation to make sure all is ok and you are relaxed.

The problem is the test is invasive and possibly your GP may feel the test would be counterproductive, if you suffer anxiety. Sorry I cannot be more helpful regards name of test

I have the same problems with bloating with anxiety it's an absolute nightmare. I look like I'm pregnant and my back kills when it happens plus I get constipated for days on end!! I found certain foods like bread and dairy make my bloating worse so I tend to avoid it during anxious spells. It's a possibility with you that the medication could be causing it? I don't take anything currently.

Thanks all I have thought maybe it's the sertraline causing it but it's really helped my anxiety the worse thing is I don't feel anxious just poorly it really sucks xx
