Can I take paracetamol with Methotrexate if necessary?

i have just started taking Methotrexate (after much consideration on my part) and a short course of steroids to get me started.  I have been diagnosed with RA.  As I am still a bit achy in the mornings, is it ok to take paracetamol?  I forgot to ask my consultant.

Linda

Hi yes you can take them if you want to it won't do any harm I would go ask your doctor for some stronger painkillers if you want hope it helps you take care

Paracetamol is fine to take along with methotrexate. Talk to your Specialist nurses to see what else they can suggest.

Hope you get the relief you need from the Methotrexate.

Best wishes. Elspeth

Yes you can.GP can give you stronger ones if needed;he gave me tramadol as I cannot take NSAID.

Hi Linda, it should be fine. I've been taking GP prescribed Co-codamol along with a weekly injection of Methotrexate and daily Hydroxychloroquine for several years.

Thank you, Michael.
