Cannot find what is causing itchiness

I have eczema, and of course dry skin. However my issue is that in the last few months my itchiness has gone crazy. I think it was after moving into a new home and I'm starting to suspect the furniture or something in the environment. However I cannot seem to locate what it could be exactly and throwing out everything without evidence is not exactly a good idea.

I have been tested for allergens, but again I think the scope of these allergens is quite limited. Recently was given prednisone which is a steroid, but this was causing quite a few side effects, so have stopped, and now I'm back to square one, albeit skin is a little better, the itching has returned which is pretty much all over.

Is there anything anyone can recommend before I literally move. Any testing, any more natural medication that can help - anti-histamines help a little but not as much as the prednisone. I'm also at a bit of a loss to find out what is causing the itch, I'm worried that it is environmental, but other the furniture I do not know what else to try.

How old are you?

Are you taking any medicines which could be causing this?

Do you have problems with sweating?

Have you recently changed washing powder?

I'm late 30s. I try to use sensitive washing powder. So not much has changed. I do typically get itchy when sweaty. But my skin just seems red and inflamed all the time.

And I take no medication.

Do you have any other skin conditions?

Eczema, dry sensitive skin. But this was always the case. What i don't understand is the burning sensation, redness and small spots that appear.

Burning sensation and redness - could just be physiological flushing.

Small spots?

A bit like acne. Back of hand. Spread to more places like legs and body.

Many people with skin problems also get physiological flushing, where their skin gets red, hot maybe sweaty and itchy. They also often get background redness.

Yes it could be. I don't know how to treat this. I've already suggested this to gp but not really anything to treat. I'm out of ideas.
