carpal tunnel scar

I am nearly 2 weeks post op, I have had my stitches out and I have started more exercise and rubbing the moisturiser in as much as I can, just wondering if anyone else found that it 'goes through them' to touch the scar and also when can I start with the stress ball, tennis ball, cotton wool and toothbrush exercises?!? I don't want to do too much too soon but would also like to get back to work asap as although I have 8 weeks at full pay, during the week when my partner and friends are all working I am soo bored sad

I'm on my second hand and got it done yesterday.bored already! Lol 3 weeks off . I jump on my kids and husband as soon as they get in the door. Jeremy kyle on TV and it's my entertainment for the day. My right hand 4 months post op . I rubbed bio oil in and got exercises off Internet.still can't push myself up on right hand but consultant said that could take up to a year. Not worried tho as op a success. It's the boredom tho.its can't sit still. Do normal jobs but take all day to do them. Oh and I what's app my friends at work and they're jealous I'm off! Swap.... lol

Hi

I would suggest you start the cotton wool, toothbrush, rough towel routine as soon as poss. It will teach your nerve endings their role again. Apparently they lose their memories when they are cut and need to learn them again. The sooner you do this you will lose the feeling of going through you. It did not take long, just a few days go doing it quite frequently. I don't know about the stress ball, I did not use one. I am 4 months post op. and feel I am fully over it and delighted with the results.

good luck

Regards Elaine

Daytime tv is killing me....I don't know how these people enjoy being off work! I try to keep myself busy doing the housework but I find I push myself that bit too much and end up in pain! Cos its supposed to be summer we should be loving the time off but its not much fun being out in the sun on your own haha

I have already started but just didn't want to push it....I will do it lots now...I use a tennis ball, a thin paintbrush, a stress ball, a comb and cotton wool....I also run water over it and moisturise lots with cocoa butter...I want to get back to work on light duties asap!!! Ulnar nerve surgery next....dreading it!!!!!
