Zervikale Candida-Infektion im Vergleich zur Vulva

Hi there.

I went for my first smear test around March time and while examining my cervix the nurse advised me that I may have thrush in that area. That came as a surprise to me as I had never really noticed any symptoms. So I took a pessary and applied Canesten cream.

A couple of months later I was referred for a colposcopy where again, while examining my cervix, the doctor mentioned signs of thrush. This time I did feel a small amount of itchiness but it was minimal. Again, I treated it with a pessary and some cream on the vulva.

It is now 5 months after that and for the past few days the symptoms are back and in full force. I am experiencing these symptoms now for the first time, despite having been told twice that I have it. I have a few questions now, like is this all one infection that never quite cured and is flaring up or is it more likely they are separate.

However my biggest point of confusion is whether the thrush my doctor found on my cervix is different than vaginal thrush and therefore can’t be treated with a pessary? The fact that I never really noticed symptoms vaginally is why I think this. How can I know if the thrush on my cervix is there if i never felt it in the first place?

should I find an oral solution?
