Change of manufacturer

Hi i have been on setraline aurobindo for about 2 months but tgis time they have given me crescent pharma sertraline and it was like starting all over again with the side effects. Has anybody else had this issue?

Hi.

yes I have.

Iv had 3 different manufacturers now and every time I get all the side effects back again.

i made an appointment with my gp and she gave me 3 months supply of the one I can tolerate and put on my notes what manufacturer I have.

But the snotty receptionist said that's if we can get them.

i will put in a repeat in good time so they can get them.

Some say there is no difference but I beg to differ.

iv wrote down all the ingredients of the three I have and they do differ to the binding agent to the coating.

good luck

Thank you for yoir reply. Thats a good idea with getting 3 months worth. I have drs on friday so will see if i can do that. Just not sure whether to stick to these new ones or go back to old as surely the side effects will start again on them too? Out of interest which ones have you tried and got on best with?

Your welcome.

i have the Teva manufacturer,

i started on the brand you started on and then Teva then Ranbaxy then back to Teva.

I took the ranbaxy for 2 days and felt rough so went back to Teva which I kept on one side just in case they didn't suit, pleased I did. Felt ok a day after back on Teva

Have a word with your GP to see if you can stick with the same manufacturer.

you don't want to be going though this every time you get new tablets.

I also found this problem. I started on sertraline which had a blue coating. Felt awful. Second prescription i was given white ones. Felt good. Next time back to blue with problems again. Aftwr research by myself and dispensing pharmacy decided it was the blue dye. So now i only have white and am doing ok. I am in the uk but the ones which suit me are made by accord. Hope you find one which suits you and can stick with it as its worth persevering. Lesley
