I've had issues with sinusitis for a decade, getting it 2-4 times per year. Lately it has gotten to the point when I get them, it lasts for a couple weeks. This year I got one that plagued me for a longer period, it took several antibiotics and steroids to get relief. The bacteria infection from sinusitis went away after week 3. From that point on to week 7 my allergy symptoms have gotten worse. The problem is my allergies have triggered so badly on top of it, that the pressure in my head and ears have gone beyond any pain I've ever felt. I have constant crackling in my ears which I can't pop no matter what I try. The temples of my head press out so bad because of the sinus pressure. And I get a piercing pain in my head all the way to my ears.
I went to see an ENT and an Allergist. The ENT recommended the deviated septum surgery and told me to use Flonase with my usual zyrtec. The allergist gave me Singulair and said I was allergic to everything after the skin graph tests.
Whenever I change elevation at work walking upstairs, the tightness intensifies. I looked into ETD online and I feel like the issues are always with my ears and throat eustachian tubes are the issue. He checks out my ears, he says they don't look that bad though. I went in today to get tubes put in my ears to try and get some relief. He didn't think I really needed that yet and instead did a myringotomy incision in my left ear to see if that would help. If it did, then when I went back in 3 weeks he would do the tubes.
Daily I use:
Netipod
Allegra or Zyrtec
Flonase (2 sprays in morning)
Singulair
I tried using Sudafed and Mucinex in the beginning, but I took it too much that it gave me rebound.
I also use a humidifier and air purifier in my bedroom. Keep the windows closed for pollen and dust. vacuum the house and dust like crazy, since I'm allergic to everything apparently.
Listen... I seriously can't take this anymore. It's been on 2 months now and my ears haven't gotten better. I hope this incision can do the trick. Has anyone delt with these issues for this amount of time?? Any solutions? Should I consider the deviated septum surgery?
