Hi everyone it's me again,
I'm 4 days into 40mg of citalopram, the doctor has gradually been increasing my dose since I started on it in the middle of december. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a sore throat on antidepressants? I have had a sore throat on and off since starting these. It does say on the side effects that it is one but my head is getting carried away again and I'm scared it's something sinister. Oh and I have had an endoscopy in Nov last year and he said my esophagus was normal, is it possible for something sinister to develop since I had my endoscopy? Thanks for reading if you got this far. I drive myself mad sometimes!

Try taking your Citalopram with a small glass of Milk, there is nothing sinister you will be ok

I'm on 20mg of Citalopram and yes I had a nasty sore throat on about wk 4. It stayed for a couple of wks but is now fine. I had no cold and am sure it was the medication. Try not to worry. Easier said than done I know for us with anxiety but I'm sure you will be fine and it will eventually go away.
I'm sure these side effects can come and go. I had nausea tonight and I haven't had that since I first started taking them.
