CKD and Smoking

I am with CKD stage 3 and have a habit of smoking. How this can effect the progression , any advice would be in help. Thanks,

simple answer, which you can probably already guess.
yes, smoking is never recommend it will exacerbate your condition, it can increase your blood pressure which is very bad with your condition if not controlled, which smoking can also affect your medication. Also research suggests reduced blood flow to your organs may also worsen your condition due to smoking. Furthermore, you could also lower your oxygen saturation level within the bloodstream which would have a negative effect on your kidney function. stopping smoking is never a bad thing especially if you don’t want to develop lung cancer.
However, please talk to your GP or suitable HCP before stopping, do not just stop smoking overnight as this could have temporary negative affects from a sudden change in lifestyle.
