Clobetosole

Has anyone else had a adverse reaction to clobetasol?  I developed horrible burning and redness that spread after using it for a few days.  I finally figured it was from it and washed it off and discontinued using it.  Things settled down immediately after I stopped using it.  Dr discontinued it but if that’s the only remedy to prevent deteriorating then what?

Is the clobetasol cream or ointment?  The reason I’m asking is because when I was in a flare up I was prescribed the cream and I cried for hours because of the redness, stinging, and burning. Even after I washed it off. My gyn prescribes the ointment instead and changed to halobetasol and I haven’t had a reaction since. She said it was because the cream had alcohol in it. It’s worth a shot.

Thank you.  I still have it I will check and see.

Hi

I could never use the clob either as it made my skin very red, thin, and rashy. It actually felt like it was burning me. I use coconut oil and aquafor for moisture. To me the key to controlling it is to not scratch it when it itches.  Do you itch a lot?

Yes, I had the same horrible issue - and I eventually reacted to Protopic as well.  Ask your doctor about Diflorasone Diacetate.  That’s what I use now - SPARINGLY.  Because if I eventually react to this stuff... then what?  I’m running out of options.

Hi hun, I was originally prescribed clob cream which worked well for me but when I saw the gyno she changed to ointment omg when I tried that started jumping up and down like I’d put a hot pan on my bits. We’re on fire.... quickly washed them off. Went back to the cream which does wonders.

Informed the dr who said the cream sits on the surface and you rub it in takes a while to be absurbed into skin the ointment is oilly gets absorbed deep into tissues and that was too too much for my lady parts to handle. Did try a week later same reaction. Binned itbedt thing I done - let us know which one you was prescribed ointment or creamhun x

Hi, I have the Clobestol ointment which I have found great on my front bits but caused redness and soreness when used around my bum. My doctor also gave me Betnovate then Eumovate which are lesser steroids but still have same problem when used on my bum area. Doctor told me not to use anything around the rear.

I have been referred without asking for patch testing at dermatology. They want to test all the products I use. I get a little burning with clob but nothing significant. I also use loads of hydramol and aloe vera and put soda bic in the bath. I'm going to take the borax along and get tested for that too although I haven't been brave enough to use it yet.

So maybe you could ask for same test.
