Anyone then get lactose intolerance? I now seem to be getting ill with lactose free products too though. So wonder f the protein in milk is causing it now too. Seems to be soya also thatis giving me trouble. I get terible pain behind navel and then pain is so bad I am sick and then get diarrahoea. Have awful pain in buttock/hip and back and neck and top of back. Dermatitis type problem causing pain in ear too. runing out of what food to trust! Couldnt have a coeliac test as I had stopped eating gluten 15 years ago. My GP then did not do me a test and said it wouldn't be this but I could still eat wholemeal products at the time and thought this was ok then the problem got worse to include all gluten and then the lactose.
thanks Nigela
I am coeliac and dairy and soya intolerant.i can have a couple of thin slices of goats cheese a day but any more and I start reacting.the slightest hint of soya makes me react which is a nuisance when it comes to medication because they slip it in.i only found out when my doctor prescribed me some b4 tablets and I reacted.the chemist was very good going through their stock to find one I could take.i tend to cook from scratch so to avoid any contaminston.good luck in sorting your eating plan x
Thanks Linda I was beginning to think it was just me! as the list gets longer of what I cannot eat!

Big hugs.i know that feeling.when I 1st got diagnosed coeliac my first thought in the consultants room was what do I eat if I can't have bread, pies, biscuits, sausage rolls, pork pies, cooking sauces.the list was endless but over the years I have found or made alternatives then when I became dairy and soya intolerant I must admit to becoming a bit depressed when chocolate and cheese were taken out of my food allowances but again alternatives are out there..one plus side is I eat healthier because I have to think before I snack.x
Hi Nigela27
Afer 4 years of a GF diet and not feeling any better, I have come to the conclusion that diary has the same effect as gluten on me. I get a terrible headache that lasts about 4 days, feel tired, dizzy and generally awful.
I am really sad as giving up dairy for me is much harder than going gf, but the difference I felt last week when i completely gave it up makes it worth it. All I can think of is that my body considers dairy the same way it considers gluten ( basically as its enermy) causing a reaction.
If you are having all of these issues it would be better for you to have a CD diagnosis as this would give you access to a dexa scan and checks on your vitamins and appointment with dieticans etc. If possible i would think about going on the gluten challenge.
Hope this is helpful to you
