I had the surgery that utilized wires wrapped around the new hip. It seems that some people who are thin get bursitis because the wire is irritating and causes bursitis
Has anyone experieinced this. I have done all the standard treatments but nothing has helped
The last alternataive is to go back into the operating room and have the wire removed. They dont seeem to be important at this stage
Would love to hear if anyone has heard of this issue
Thanks in advance
No I am not sure if I had that procedure, but have bursitis and had my hip op in June 2015. I get really sore leg /hip and find I cannot walk very far without discomfort. Have had lots of physio and cortisone injection nothing has improved this.
I am going back in August to see consultant again and they may do MRI to see what the problem is. I so hope it's not another operation or have to put up with this discomfort pain as I feel was it worth it. I shall see, hope you get on okay not sure which procedure I had.
regards Lorna
Sorry Handstrung - no experience with this, thank goodness (sorry if this sounds mean).
Did they use wire wrapping because of a fracture?
I hope everything goes better and please let us know how they resolve this problem - I sure hope it doesn't require more surgery for you.
Best wishes,
L
