Hello again,
My name is Kathleen , I am 54 years of age and I live in Canada although my mother was from the south of Ireland....
4 years afo I ws diagnosed with COPD. It really did not occur to me what my illness really ws until this past March...When I ws in Edmonton Alberta...they hav a large number of residents of that province that suffer a great many respiratory conditons...I had a very bad sore throat while I was there which eventually had me in a full blown attack of COPD and hospitalized for 15 days...I watched from a bed in Emergency my son being told by a respirologist ,(well known in this country) that if he took me home as I did not want to stay in hospital that his mither me,,would likely diet that night.... What kicked up the COPD is something called Snow Mould ....it is indigenous to Alberta Canada....I came home am trying despartely to stop smoking ...but does anyone know about Snow Mould and Copd...This is most important to me as I have done this to myself...I must try to arrest this as much as posssible I have no little hairs on my lungs at all. What is so trying for me is if I take another attack of COPD or anyitme that I do, I run a great risk of dying each time i have an attack...Please there are some things we can do to change the damage we have done to ourselves by smoking...but what do we do about Snow Mould, how does one protect oneself when they have know cortol over these environmentel situations that we can't change or do anythng about ...this terrifies me I have learned more about my illness in the last month and a half than I have in 4 years but this is frightening when I can do nothing about that which is mother nature I would be open to any suggetions on Snow MOuld or rea;lly what it is thanks-you once again for letting me share something on this most grave health concern
with regards ,Kathleen
