hi, i have been diagnosed ls for the past 9/10 years, just recently i have been told that maybe too much dairy products (yogurts) etc is not good for this condition, anyone out there can help on this subject.
My experience is that especially the cheeses are contributing to cause a flare up. I still take a small amount of a good quality yoghurt.
I have given up sugar and dairy and have had a profound improvement in my symptoms. Its sort of easy to do and with fairly immediate results. You can easily buy cheese, yoghurt and milk substitutes in major supermarkets and in health stores. Just have to watch out if you buy processed food. I dont eat hardly any fruit either because of the high sugar content. Hope you find it works for you also.
Hi, I am Gluten free and have been Dairy free for quite some time. But recently after feeling horribly unwell, with many new ailments popping up, (some extremely frightening) I discovered that I am not only lactose intolerant (that's the sugar found in Dairy) but Casein intolerant too, (that's the protein found in Dairy)
Intolerance's to the proteins in Dairy are a bit more confusing and difficult to pinpoint, as some of the symptoms are similar to those of allergic reactions! and the symptoms of a Dairy protein intolerance can usually take longer to appear, thus making identification very difficult. Personally I feel like I have just found out in the nick of time! however my undercarriage is feeling the worst it has ever done.
Most people that have problems with Dairy will find that it is a simple case of avoiding lactose, but for some, possibly those that are Gluten intolerant, its worth being aware of the problems with Casein, as some of the many products, (for example coffee creamers) that you find in the supermarkets may state that they are Dairy free, but they still contain Casein, which is where I had the problem.
