So for the past few days I've noticed this dark brown discharge staining my underwear and I decided to wait a bit an see if it continued. Today after sex I found that the condom was covered in quite a lot of reasonably thick dark brown discharge. I've also been having stomach cramps for the past few days so thought maybe my period is coming but a few days later and no period but the discharge and cramps are still happening. I can't actually remember when my last period was but I'd say it was roughly this time last month when my last one started. I was just wondering if this is period related or something else as I've never experienced this before.
Dark brown discharge is normally just old blood that sometimes comes through before period starts. However if your period does not come on in the next few days it would be pertinent to visit your ob gyn for a check-up just in case there is an infection brewing or in the odd case that something else is up.
It is always a good idea to note down your periods in a calendar so you can track them and have an overview of yoru cycle.

Not a doctor but, I can share my personal experience.
Dark Brown discharge is fairly normal during the whole menstrual cycle, especially prior to menstruation. It happened to me more than once to get cramps followed by Brown discharge for a few days before actual period started. I would say it's normal and not to worry about it. If your period won't start, perhaps you should consider seeing your doctor, especially if you have very irregular cycles.
Keeping track of your period can be useful. There's many apps out there to help you do so!
Thank's for sharing. It has put my mind at ease a little. Will wait an see if my period comes any time soon and if not will visit the doctors.
The pill can also cause this colour discharge if you are on it.. but so can pregnancy implantation so if your period doesnt come i would take a pregnancy test just to rule that out if it doesn't stop
I would not wait any longer, i would go and see the Dr. asap. There could be something brewing, that could be serious. Does the discharge smell??, does it get worse at times.?? Really, if it were me, I would be at the Dr.'s yesterday.!!!
why are you waiting for your period to come.?? you may have a bad infection, or worse.!!
Dont scare her! Brown discharged is usually a normal thing with lots of harmless causes..
I'm not on the pill and there is no smell at all. As I said I am pretty sure my period is due any day now so I was assuming it was something to do with that.
