Day 12 after my hip op but oh this numb bum feeling!

hello to everyone
DAY 12 post op now , i thinking am doing ok, more mobile each day , its this numb bum sensation thats going on that i cant seem to get to grips with. i cant seem to be able to be in bed for more than three hours max before i have to get up and move around which means am wide awake for just as long again , struggle to lay on my back normally to sleep so am half sat up and half laid down with five pillows , does anyone have any suggestions please ?
Also finished taking my hospital supply of OXYLAN 5mg can i go back to taking the codeine i was taking before the op with the naproxen and stop the paracetamol ?
many thanks

hello fellow hippy ! I am 13 days post OP. I too sleep with a barricade of pillows to swaddle myself so I can get comfortable to try to get sleep. thank you for writing knowing I am not the only one going through this as well. I even in the recliner I have to get up and move. I am not on any antinflammatory meds I wonder If I should be? i know sometimes while on aspirin they want you to space it out. I hope you find relief. when do you go back for follow up? please keep me updated since out time lines are so close. I ran out of norco that was sent home it’s the weekend so I am taking tyl 3 that I was on before the surgery. I dont get back to dr until Thursday and they cant call in anything stronger so I have to wait to get into the city. I found d it helps me last couple of nights to take tylenol PM to help me get to sleep. I made it through 7 hours sleep. the best yet. feel good soon.

hi. I’m 18 weeks post OP posterior approach RTHR in the uk
anyway as far as your question re meds I was on the strong opioid in hospital but discharged on codeine ( + paracetamol and ibuprofen ) which I needed all of it for abt 2 weeks then gradually dropped them all off. i now just take 200mg x2 of ibuprofen mainly for other joint aches elsewhere lol. you’ll find some will say they dont need meds but others do. varies with how OP was done / how fit your muscles were pre OP/ how bad your bone was pre OP. so dont worry if you think you’re taking too much . my hospital advised best to be pain free so you can move abt which all helps with recovery.
and as for the numb bum  mine was /is to side of my hip but is gradually getting less - which is normal. I slept on my back but with abt 5 pillows gradually over time reducing them . even now altho pre OP I was a side sleeper I’m still happy sleeping on my back. I can get on my side but I like sleeping on my back
anyway best wishes in your recovery. I found early days every day there was an improvement in some way and even now every week theres something to celebrate lol. atm its walking faster than i did 2 weeks ago

My lot told me NSAIDs including aspirin slowed down new bone attachment to the implants and so stick with the Tramadol which I did but only half a dose.
I don’t think it great for specific pain but I felt relaxed and cheerful on it and could sleep.
I could see how and addictive type person could come to like the sensation, and my wife said " please take it " because I was much easier going!
