I started my Lexapro last night at 8 pm. I don't even know what to say, I don't know if its just my anxiety and paranoia about taking meds but this has been weird. The anxiety hit me in waves, I would start to get anxious and my hands and feet would sweat, then it would go away, then come back. It was super hard to sleep also. I would sleep or so I thought for a couple minutes or so then wake back up. My head feels weird, I feel a bit dizzy (could be my labyrinthitis though too) I have a headache, I can't close my eyes without having weird thoughts Nothing bad just weird. I also felt like I had a brain zap, like it felt like an electric shock from my brain into my body. Is this normal? I'm only taking 5mg. I need advice from people who have or is taking this medication.. please.
Lockerby you are braver than me to take meds but I'm sure it's your anxiety as I see you are paranoid about taking them. Unfortunately I've been prescribed lots but won't take them as I too am terrified to do so. Persevere though. You took the first step. I'm sure you will be fine. Good Luck
I have just started taking 20mg fluoxetine since Thursday and I am feeling quite dizzy........I am generally a dizzy person anyway with anxiety and like you have had labyrinthitis in the past but this is different so it is probably your body adjusting can take a few days,........I also have a headache, pins and needles increased anxiety and difficulty sleeping hope I start feeling better soon coz these symptoms are pretty miserable 😒
That's pretty much exactly how I feel and I'm only on 5 mg of lexapro. I hope things get better for both of us!
Me too! hope the medication improves the way you have been feeling but you may have to ride out some awful symptoms first before things hopefully get better x

Yeah, it's terrifying me. I can't help but think what if this doesn't work, what if this makes me worse, I mean it's slowing down some of the anxiety that cripples me but I'm still very anxious.. my vision is really weird and I heard its normal but my pupils dialate. It's crazy... it freaks me out bad. I take my second dose in about 30 minutes and I'm terrified. Eh.
